Allan graduated alongside Sharon in 2011 after marrying her the previous year. Since 2012 he has worked as a mixed animal vet while developing his interest in exotic animal medicine. He is currently studying for his Advanced Practitioner Certificate at the University of Edinburugh.

Allan is also a fully trained Ordained Local Minister with the Church of Scotland. He enjoys reading, watching TV and films and has recently taken up running. He does not like mornings.

Kayleigh

Kayleigh Bridge RVN C&GcertES, ISFMDipFN

Kayleigh has worked in the veterinary field for over 14 years in both primary care and referral practices. She has a nursing certificate in exotic species and a diploma in feline nursing. Kayleigh has a passion for feline behaviour and educating owners on cats and their little quirks.

In her spare time she enjoys being creative and arty. She also loves exploring the outdoors and trying new activities. Currently Kayleigh has three cats: Apollo, Meredith and Callie, and Frank the tortoise. She has had a huge variety of pets over the years including snakes, lizards, insects and small furries.

Kayleigh is well known for her ever-changing hair colour and style. She’s like the chameleon of the practice!

Faye

Fay Cavanagh RVN CertVNES

Fay is an experienced RVN: after qualifying in 2012 she has worked in a variety of practices in the North East and spent some time working in Cambridgeshire.

Fay enjoys all aspects of her job and has a particular love for smaller mammals.

Fay lives, on what she calls the ‘right side’ of the River Tyne: Newcastle, with her 2 cats and Gerbil.

Danielle

Danielle Banks

Danielle started working in the veterinary field in 2017 which has lead her to rescue 4 cats and a dog in the last 5 years! She has an interest in feline behaviour and pharmacology. In her spare time she enjoys exploring new place with the dog and snuggling up with her rescue cat Roy.

Gill Blenkiron

Gill qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1980, and has worked in several practices over the years, more recently as a receptionist. She has a love of animals and has had various cats and dogs – mostly rescued – her latest being Mabel, who came into the vets with an un-healing wound on her face. In her spare time Gill enjoys walking, gardening and reading.

Angela

Angela Brannen

Angela has worked in the veterinary field for over 10 years, and can now be found on reception during the first part of the week. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and dogs.

Lauren Easton

Lauren recently joined our team as a veterinary care assistant after working for the RSPCA caring for rescue dogs.

She has a passion for dogs and dog behaviour: taking dogs that are in RSPCA care out on day trips to help socialise them with the outside world. Of course Lauren got attached to one of these dogs called Dash who she adopted and is a full time dog mam.

Lauren is now putting this knowledge to use as the vets will now call for her help if a dog needs a little extra TLC.

Lauren enjoyed fostering reptiles for the RSPCA and has been able to continue this while working at Wrights with the knowledge and advice from Allan. She also has her own reptiles at home.

Lauren is enjoying expanding her knowledge and learning the ways of the veterinary world with such an excellent team for support and guidance.

Christine

Christine Pardey

After a long career in retail, leisure and security industries it was time for Christine to make a change. She joined Wrights’ Vets in May 2022 and enjoys meeting all the fur-babies and the not-so-fur-babies and their families every day. She has 8 cats and 2 angels who she loves dearly. She enjoys spending time with her family and when she gets the opportunity loves to horse ride and read autobiographies about people she finds interesting.

Steph

Steph Forster

Steph joined the Wrights’ Vets team in April 2021 as an Admin assistant. She is one of the few who works 5 days a week and really enjoys being part of such a lovely team. She mainly works in the office but occasionally on the reception desk. When she’s not at work she enjoys spending time with her family and cooking.

Athena Practice Pet

Athena is our charcoal corn snake. She was discovered slithering wild during the winter while Allan was working at another practice. She is approximately three feet long and, while shy, is more than happy to come out and see the world. She loves mice and slithering backwards up your top!

Tweety Practice Pet

Tweety joined us after his owner passed away. He is still getting used to being with us but enjoys joining us for lunch, and sampling whatever we have brought!
